Eva and Emelie

"The shared brain", Emelie and Eva, also referred to as E&E, live in Sweden and work together in their collaboration Carpe Momentum. Carpe Momentum has been going strong since 1998! The colleagues teach seminars on the general principles of behavior and learning, sport specific seminars and find great joy and interest in coaching trainers to learn the skills of structuring great training sessions, regardless of the venue or species. E&E offer consultations and workshops about applying positive reinforcement based strategies with human and nonhuman learners in all imaginable areas. They have experience with a wide variety of venues - from puppy classes to top level competition agility and obedience competition, and from domestic dogs to goats and giraffes, horses, adults and kids. E&E introduced TAGteach to Scandinavia already in 2005 and went on to becoming the first TAGteach faculty in Europe. They have been part of the Clicker Expo faculty for many years. Their book Agility Right from the Start was published by Karen Pryor Clicker Training (Sunshine Books) in 2010. This book is about agility but also describes Emelie and Eva’s philosophy and structured approach to training, making it a worthy read for anyone interested in animal training and behavior.

Emelie studied to be a teacher in English and Swedish at Lund University, together with further studies in both linguistics and children’s literature. She does work as a translator and editor and also writes fiction novels for both adults and children. She enjoys many different sports such as running, yoga and climbing, and also enjoys finding ways to break them down and teach them to others, both adults and children.

Eva has a master’s degree in behavior analysis and is a board member of the Swedish Association for Behavior Analysis, and works to connect the communities - teaching behavior analysis to animal trainers, and teaching animal training strategies to behavior analysts working with people. She is also active in building a Fear Free™ veterinary care community in Scandinavia, and is the initiator and host of the Scandinavian CCC conference (where the three C:s stand for Choice, Control and Communication) .
